Basic Needs Hub

Mission

The Basic Needs Hub provides students with one place to stop for all concerns related to providing for basic needs support. Our mission is to connect PSU students to resources in the moment of need so students can focus on academics, career goals, and interpersonal relationships.

Resources and Support Services

Emergency Funds

Information about the General Student Emergency Fund, as well as various student hardship funds throughout the university

Food Assistance

Information about on and off campus resources to support food security. Details include the PSU Food Pantry, Free Food Market, "Swipe It Forward" program, emergency meal vouchers, and SNAP assistance

Housing Services

Information about emergency housing, the Affordable Rent for College Students (ARCS) program, and the Utility Bill Grant Program

STEP Program

Information about the SNAP Training and Employment Program (STEP), which works with students receiving SNAP to develop a personalized success plan to help guide their educational and career goals (monthly stipend can vary)

Information about on and off campus resources to support physical and mental wellbeing

Child & Family Assistance

The Resource Center for Students with Children offers integrated services that support students’ goals to be effective parents while succeeding in their academic pursuits

Location

The Basic Needs Hub is located in Smith Memorial Student Union, Suite 435.

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm (Short drop-in inquiries)

Appointments are required for Oregon Energy Fund applications, SNAP application assistance, emergency housing coordination, and longer one on one support around on and off campus resources.
