Professional Background & Interests:
Specific areas of clinical expertise are minimal brain injury (MTBI), aphasia, dysphagia, and voice disorders, with emphasis on those that affect professional users of voice, including singers. In addition to teaching as an adjunct clinical faculty, he also supervises graduate students in the off-site practicum at Emanuel Hospital, where students gain valuable experience in adult neurogenic disorders, voice disorders, and dysphagia. He completed a rehabilitation services administration traineeship at the William S. Middleton Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. A classically trained musician, he serves as organist, choir director and Director of Parish Music at Grace Lutheran Church in Portland. When not at work, he chases his family of five children until it’s time to come to work again.
