Interests: Social Movements, Radical Social Change, Social Theory, Globalization, Sociology of the Media
Current Projects: I'm currently working on two articles: The first explores constructions of nationalism and statism within media coverage of "The Oka Crisis", an armed standoff between Mohawks and the Canadian state. The second explores the community-building resistance of CIPO-VAN, a community organization based in Vancouver BC with ties to the 2006 social movement in Oaxaca Mexico.
