Doing the Groundwork for a Sustainable Neighborhood: A Celebration of Groundwork Portland
Portland State University School of Social Work
Academic Student Recreation Center (ASRC) Building
6th Floor
1800 SW 6th Ave.
Portland, OR 97201
Accessible by Streetcar, Max Green and Yellow Lines
Doing the Groundwork will be a fun and informative event that takes place with support from the PSU Social Sustainability Network. This event will bring together students, PSU and Portland neighborhood community members from a variety of disciplines and range of interests. The focus will be on Groundwork's efforts to clean up brownfields while building community. In particular, the Emerson Street Garden Project will be highlighted as one way to build community and increase the local food supply. Those interested in brownfield clean-ups, community development and local food production are strongly encouraged to attend. We expect a number of other groups with similar missions to attend as well.
Join us on Friday, 2/25 from 1 to 3 pm and enjoy local, organic food appetizers, socializing as well as opportunities to learn more about how to support Groundwork Portland and local food production.

Welcome to the Social Sustainability Network and Colloquium website! As you can see we are 'under construction' but keep checking back as we get things set up.
The Social Sustainability Network operates as a living laboratory, acting as a forum in which scholars and practitioners can share, learn and collaborate.
Network members have access to: research development sessions; scholarly exchanges in a colloquium series co-sponsored by the Center of Professional Integrity & Accountability; and inventories of PSU social sustainability projects, related research tools and funding opportunities, and educational offerings on social sustainability.
The Network is funded by a Miller Foundation Grant through the PSU Center for Sustainable Processes and Practices
