Graduate Program


The School of Community Health offers:

1) a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in health promotion through the Oregon Master of Public Health program

2) a Master of Arts/Master of Science degree in health studies

The School of Community Health's graduate programs are designed to prepare students for advanced study or professional work in a wide variety of settings in the fields of community health, health education, and health promotion.

Admission to the M.P.H. program is based on several factors. We are looking for a diverse pool of applicants with undergraduate degrees from various disciplines. We are interested in applicants with some social science background in areas such as sociology, political science, psychology, anthropology, women's studies, or related areas.

Additional requirements include a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, a minimum score of 1,000 on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), three letters of recommendation, a personal resume, and a 500-word personal essay. The GRE institution code for PSU is 4610 and the SCH department code is 0616.
