PSU in National Advertising Competitions

The Ad Mgmt program in the school of business has steadily grown in size and stature. Evidence of this is how PSU has made a name for itself in a variety of student ad competitions.

In the American Advertising Federation's National Student Ad Competition, PSU has won the regional competition four times in the last eight years, placed in the top 10 nationally three times and has placed as high as finished 5th in the nation. PSU recently won a prestigious invitational ad competition sponsored by the US Dept of Transportation Seatbelt Safety Division.

Most exciting is the record PSU has established in the new Collegiate Effie Competitions. The Effie's are one of the most prestigious awards in all of advertising. The Collegiate Effie competition was inaugurated in 2010. That year PSU won a silver Effie for work done on Heineken, IN 2011 PSU won the gold Effie for work done on MINI Cooper.

PSU teams are made up of Advertising Management, Graphic Design and Communications majors who do the research, communications strategy development, graphic design, media planning, and presentation of a comprehensive promotional campaign for a national brand. in June.

PSU's success in the Collegiate Effie's was recently the focus of a web feature in the university website home page.
