Summer Business Institute
June 18-21, 2012
The Summer Business Institute is a unique opportunity for high school students to explore the world of business with Portland State business faculty and local business leaders. The Institute will focus on diversity within the business community and sustainable business practices here in Oregon. The institute is especially designed for students with culturally diverse backgrounds.
Over the course of four days, students will:
- Participate in classroom case studies and lectures with faculty and local business leaders
- Discuss ethical issues affecting today's corporations
- Explore businesses supportive of sustainable business practices
- Explore business career opportunities available with a college education
- Participate in a business simulation project
- Earn your first college level business credit
The Business Institute will be held from 9 am until 4 pm each day and will include visits to local businesses in the Portland area.
