has a B.S. from University of Oregon, an M.A.S. from University
of Illinois, and a Ph.D. from University of Oregon. Dr. Johnson
is a Certified Public Accountant and teaches auditing concepts
and practices. He is a former president of the Oregon Society
of CPAs and is currently the chair of the Independence and Ethics
committee of the Oregon Board of Accountancy. Dr. Johnson continues
at the lead author of a major auditing text, Modern Auditing,
and he is involved in professional issues related to audit effectiveness,
auditor independence, reporting on internal controls and leveraging
the knowledge obtained during the audit to deliver value-added
services to clients. Outside of the audit area he is exploring
issues related to the motivations behind earnings management issues
in both public and private companies.
