Beverly Fuller holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Virginia Tech and teaches in the areas of corporate and personal finance. However, Beverly's research is mostly in the investments area. In the past, she investigated the over-allotment option, preferred stock, and the choice between debt and equity. Mostly recently, she has looked at measures of risk and has created new, more effective measures that are used to forecast a firm's returns. Besides being an active presenter at professional meetings, her research work is published in numerous academic journals such as Financial Management, Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting, Journal of International Finance, Journal of the American Academy of Accounting and Finance, the Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance, and the Proceedings of the Decision Sciences Institute. Currently Beverly is the advisor to the Financial Management student organization for business students. Beverly has a special interest in developing markets and has traveled extensively in the former Soviet Union. |
