Who we are:

The Food Industry Leadership Center (FILC) began in 1994 as a partnership between Portland State University's School of Business Administration and the food industry. Retail and packaged goods companies provided seed funding in order to establish a world-class resource for recruiting and developing top management talent specific to the food industry.

The Food Industry Leadership Center is a leading university-affiliated resource designed by and tailored to the food, beverage and consumer packaged goods industry. Located at Portland State University, the FILC works to promote education, leadership and research critical to this field.

The scope of the FILC is threefold:

  1. The FILC is a leader in what it provides: lifelong learning and career development for professionals within the food industry.
  2. Ongoing executive education programs help participants gain applicable skills and knowledge.
  3. FILC students gain valuable industry knowledge, customized skills and important industry executive contacts.
