2010 Highlights

Lisa Sedlar is the President and Chief Executive Officer of New Seasons Market. Originally from the Midwest, Lisa was drawn to Portland for its creative energy and its support of the environment, and most importantly, local, sustainably grown food. Lisa is a formally trained chef and has worked in retail food markets for over 20 years, in positions ranging from Store Chef to Director of Purchasing to Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Twenty-first century change often has the effect of giving business leaders - even the most forward-looking ones - a kind of intellectual whiplash. Just when you think you've figured out where things are going - what works and what doesn't - something happens to challenge your thinking and turn preconceptions into misconceptions.
Join us for the state of the industry review with in-depth information on shopper, financial and operational trends in grocery retailing. High fuel and food inflation and continued economic woes have created an incredibly complex and competitive marketplace in which successful retailers must maximize each shopper occasion.
Women who break through into leadership positions in business get there with a reputation for delivering results. They are comfortable gaining and using power. They come across as credible, and strategic. When they speak, others listen. They have a ‘seat at the table’, and use it, to make a difference.
