FILC Scholarships

The Distinguished Order of Zerocrats/National Frozen Foods: The Distinguished Order of Zerocrats fund a $2000 scholarship for a FILC student each year. The Distinguished Order of Zerocrats are an organization of frozen food industry members whose purpose is to maintain the tradition of promoting the image and advancement of the frozen food industry.

Inspirators: The Inspirators are a network of three hundred food industry vendors with over a half-century history of generous contributions to local non-profits. The Inspirators have raised $20,000 a year for the past three years for the Food Industry Leadership Center Inspirators endowed scholarship.

Pathways to Diversity: PepsiCo provided matching funding for a diversity-based scholarship. Fred Meyer, Costco, and the Western Association of Food Chains have committed to matching funding for this scholarship.

Robert G. Miller: The Robert G. Miller Endowment, in conjunction with Fred Meyer, has funded approximately $15,000 in scholarships per year since 1996. This scholarship honors Robert G. Miller’s astounding thirty years of continued commitment to education within the food industry. Preference will be given to Fred Meyer employees and their families.

Sysco Food Services of Portland: Mr. John Spanu has generously established a scholarship through Sysco Food Services of Portland. Sysco is a main supplier to vendors in the food retail industry.

Henningsen Cold Storage: Henningsen Cold Storage is a leading company in the food refridgeration industry. This scholarship is to assist students who are interested in the logistics side of the food retail industry.

USDA Multicultural Scholarship: The primary goal of the USDA Multicultural Scholarship is to provide scholarship support for students from diverse backgrounds who are interested in management positions in some of America’s leading food and beverage companies. The USDA Multicultural Scholarship will provide academic support and enhanced career preparation for 16 students targeting business careers within the retail, food, beverage and consumer products industry.
