Matthew Carlson receives grant for Asian Wellness Connection
Matthew Carlson, Center for Health and Social Inequality Research and Sociology faculty, has been awarded a three-year, $45,000 subcontract funded by the United Way through the Asian Health and Wellness Center for the Asian Wellness Connection. The grant funds a pilot project that will build on the medical home concept by creating a culturally competent, integrated system that extends beyond the clinical setting, incorporating wraparound services-such as community engagement programs, workshops, support groups, and outpatient mental health treatment-to promote the overall health and wellbeing of Asians.
