Summer Trip ScheduleSunday June 29th: OPAL CREEK DAY HIKE Registration Deadline: Thursday @ 2pm Students: $24 Fac/Staff: $29 Public: $53 This day trip will give you a sense of what the entire Pacific Northwest once was...towering and uncut old growth forest. Marvel at the size of these Douglas Firs, Western Hemlocks, and Western Red Cedars. This is a beginner appropriate trip. As always, transportation included.
Saturday July 5th: CARVER BOULDERING TRIP Registration Deadline: Wednesday July 2nd @ 2pm Students: $22 Fac/Staff: $26 Public: $46 Join us for a day of bouldering at Carver Cliff. This is an Oregon classic bouldering site near the Clackamas River. We'll spend the day working at some challenging boulder problems and enjoying being away from the city. Experience helpful, but not necessary. Beginners are welcome.
Sunday July 6th: EAGLE CREEK DAY HIKE Registration Deadline: Wednesday July 2nd @ 2pm Students: $23 Fac/Staff: $27 Public: $50 Take a hike with us on Eagle Creek in the Columbia River Gorge. We'll climb steadily towards Mount Hood while enjoying spectacular views including several waterfalls.
Tuesday July 8th: FRENCH'S DOME CLIMBING Registration Deadline: Monday July 7th @ 2pm Students: $34 Fac/Staff: $40 Public: $75 French's dome is a great starting point for anyone who always wanted to give rock climbing a try. We'll spend a few hours in the rock gym before the trip teaching you some basic movements and how to belay...then we're off to practice your new skills. All gear, instruction and transportation included.
Thursday (eve) July 10th to Sunday July 13th: SMITH ROCK SHUTTLE Registration Deadline: Thursday July 10th @ 3pm Students: $15 Fac/Staff: $20 Public: $40 This is a shuttle to and from the Bivy Campsite at Smith Rock State Park. There will be no formal instruction during the weekend. Smith Rock is an excellent destination for hiking, rock climbing, bouldering, biking or just enjoying being out of the city.
Thursday July 17th: Day Trip French's Dome Rock Climbing Registration Deadline: Tuesday 7/15 @ 2pm Student: $34 Fac/Staff: $41 Public: $76 *See Description Above
Friday July 18th: Cascade Head Day Hike Registration Dealine: Wednesday July 16th @ 2pm Student: $25 Fac/Staff: $30 Public: $55 This is a moderately challenging 6 mile hike to a spectacular lookout point on the Oregon coast. Bring your camera!
Sunday July 20th: Deschutes River Rafting Registration Dealine: Wednesday 7/16 @ 2pm Student: $38 Fac/Staff: $46 Public: $83 This trip is SICK! Whitewater rafting with warm weather and beautiful scenery. This is a Class III+ to IV trip. Please be aware that this is a long day with 3 hours of driving each way (it is worth it). Also, there are only 9 spots, so sign up quickly. You snooze, you lose.
Thursday July 24th to Sunday July 27th: Backpacking the Washington Cascades Registration Deadline: Monday 7/21 @ 2pm Student: $130 Fac/Staff: $156 Public: $288 This will be a memorable backpacking trip into the cascades. Alpine lakes, amazing views and abundant wildlife will be scene in the William O Douglas Wilderness (near Mount Ranier). All food, gear and transportation included.
