I have been swimming competitively since I was 5 years old, so about 13 years now! I started teaching when I was 13 years old volunteering for swimming lessons. This will be my sixth summer working for an aquatics facility. My preferred lessons are beginner (starting from scratch and working up to whatever level is desired) to advanced stroke technique - for competitive swimming, Masters Swimming, or just triathlon / endurance improvement.

I started swimming competitively in High School, although swimming has always been important in my life. I made the switch from the other sports I played, such as football, track, and baseball to swimming because of a painful muscle disease in my foot that made standing and running for long periods of time nearly impossible. This was the best switch I could have made. Swimming turned out to be a fun, low impact way to workout and got me into better shape then the previous sports I had played.
Now, I enjoy teaching others how to swim. I have taught children from ages two to sixteen at levels ranging between being uncomfortable and unwilling to get in the water, to much more advanced students who were wanting to participate on swim team. I haven’t had the opportunity to work with adults in the past, but I look forward to doing so. Although I don’t have experience teaching swimming or working on refining strokes with adults, I have worked with adults in a teaching setting. This was done in an adult G.E.D. program where I was a tutor and teacher’s assistant.
I look forward to seeing you at the pool!

I have been teaching swim lessons for five years and love to teach people to swim. I have taught small group lessons, large group lessons, and private lessons for both adults and children. I was on swim team for ten years so I really enjoy teaching technique and helping swimmers become confident while swimming laps and coaching swimmers training for triathlons.
