Dr. Yiping Fang

A recent addition to the Toulan School, Yiping deepens the School's expertise in international planning. Her research has been focused on social and spatial inequality in Chinese cities between local and migrant households. Her teaching interests cover research methods, GIS in planning, and comparative planning policy. Moreover, she will play a large role in the PSU-China Innovations in Urbanization Program. Before coming to Portland, Dr. Fang worked as an academic staff in development studies at Erasmus University in the Netherlands. She was also a Research Associate at the Sociology Department at Brown University in 2006-7, studying housing reforms' impact in urban China.
