Jeff Putterman is a unique guitarist and composer who has performed as a soloist, sideman and ensemble leader in clubs and concert halls from coast to coast and abroad. A former instructor at the Musicians Institute (Los Angeles) and the Berklee College of Music (Boston), Jeff has performed with many of the jazz world’s celebrated artists, including the late bassistTeddy Kotick, famous father Ellis Marsalis, Fringe members Bob Gulotti and Rich Appleman, woodwind phenom Scott Robinson, esteemed author and clinician Jerry Coker, and neo-bop guitar master Joe Diorio. Since relocating to Portland in 1988, Jeff has worked with local legends Glen Moore, Rob Thomas, John Stowell, Dave Captein, and a host of others… in addition to teaching at Lewis & Clark College, directing middle school and high school jazz and symphonic bands, and initiating a successful high school guitar program in the Lake Oswego School District. In 2004 Jeff was invited to join the Portland State Faculty to teach jazz guitar studies. He continues to compose and perform and has become a devotee of the 7 string guitar.
