Maria Kapantzoglou, Ph.D., is an associate professor at Portland State University (PSU) and a certified trilingual speech-language pathologist. Her research focuses on the assessment of language skills in bilingual children with and without primary language impairment. She has a Master in Measurement, Statistics and Methodological Study, and she has worked in federally funded projects to develop culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment tools for Spanish-English speaking children. She has worked with bilingual children in four different countries and in three languages: English, Spanish and Greek. At PSU, she teaches courses on speech and language disorders, and supervises graduate students in the bilingual concentration.
