Career Goals: What do you plan to do with your fluency in Russian?

I am interested in working in an area related to international studies and Russia for the federal government. I am excited for the opportunities that Russian fluency will bring me!

What attracted you to the Flagship Program?

The high degree of fluency offered by the flagship program achieved through intensive small classes is what attracts me to the Flagship Program. I was further interested in Russian and was offered greater financial support at Portland State.

What’s the best aspect of being in the Flagship Program?

The best aspect of the program is the amazing resources available to students, the best of which are the many dedicated professors as well as an amazing community of students and faculty. This is demonstrated through many great community events that also are great language practice.

Why is fluency in Russian vital to you?

Russian fluency is important to me because I want to more easily communicate in the wider world. I also enjoy the challenge of learning and the feeling of accomplishment.
