Prior to joining the PSU faculty in 2013, Ms. Quinn spent 13 years as a clinician for adult populations within medical settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient and skilled nursing facilities. Her interests include dysphagia and swallow preservation following head and neck cancer treatment; dysphagia assessment through MBSS and FEES; and stroke rehabilitation. Here at the PSU clinic she has dedicated her time to program development around the adult clinic focusing on social communication skills for persons with aphasia through a life participation model. Her efforts have resulted in greater support to the community and a richer educational experience to our students. In the Fall of 2018 she developed a new clinic within a post acute rehab center which has been instrumental in training adult medical SLPs for the field. She continues to practice as a PRN clinician through various facilities in the community. Remaining current allows her to bring the most up to date practices into the classroom to train our students in what to expect from a medical model. She has always had a passion for mentoring students which led to her position here at PSU. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family traveling, crafting and exploring the outdoors.
