Alissa Ferguson Phillips is a film and television producer.
Phillips most recently produced three films for Jason Blum’s BlumHouse and Hulu’s widely acclaimed anthology series INTO THE DARK. Her first film for Blum, Gigi Saul Guerrero’s “CULTURE SHOCK” was released in 2019 to rave reviews, including being hailed the best of the film series and won a 2020 Image Award. Phillips followed this with of Hannah MacPherson’s “PURE” which has also been a critical darling. Phillips most recent film for BlumHouse, “A NASTY PIECE OF WORK,” debuted January 2020.
Prior to Blum, in 2018 Phillips produced Amy Schumer’s blockbuster comedy I FEEL PRETTY which was released by STX. Phillips also produced THEN CAME YOU starring Maisie Williams and Asa Butterfield which was released theatrically in 2019 and currently streaming on Netflix.
Prior to going independent, Phillips was a Sony-based Producer with Michael De Luca. With DeLuca, Phillips was a producer of the Oscar-nominated and widely acclaimed film MONEYBALL. She also produced Universal Pictures’ DRACULA UNTOLD. In television with DeLuca, Phillips Executive Produced “CHILDHOOD’S END,” a UCP 6-hour, event series for SyFy and TNT’s critically acclaimed series “MOB CITY” created and directed by Frank Darabont.
Before De Luca, Phillips was an Associate Producer on the indie cult hit TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL, and a producer with Gil Netter where she worked on the development of LIFE OF PI and FEVER PITCH. Phillips began her career with Beau Flynn, where she served as an Associate Producer on New Line’s AFTER THE SUNSET and produced two seasons of MTV’s ground breaking, reality series “FEAR.”
Phillips is an alumna of Wellesley College and University College London. The scholarly Science Fiction Studies article she authored, “Reflections in a Silver Eye: Lens and Mirror in Blade Runner,” has been cited numerous times and still featured in university syllabi worldwide.
Phillips is married to film and television writer Fernley Phillips and they have three daughters, one dog, one miniature pig (who’s not really very miniature), and 14 chickens.
