Applied Research, Consulting Services, and Mapping
PRC has conducted numerous GIS-based studies for state and local governments and private non-profit organizations; occasionally, we carry out projects commissioned by individuals and for-profit corporations. Depending on their goal, these projects may utilize a single GIS technique or a variety of GIS methods.
The following are types of projects that require a significant involvement of GIS techniques:
- development of a dataset of Census and other governmental data for custom-defined areas (e.g., neighborhoods, service areas, areas within a given radius or a driving time from a specified location),
- geocoding of custom lists of addresses (membership lists, accident locations, locations of service centers or businesses),
- redistricting of electoral boundaries or school attendance areas;
- design and production of a thematic map or a series of maps.
Other projects may require a more complex analysis where GIS methods serve a supplementary role:
- population estimates and forecasts for custom-defined areas,
- school enrollment forecasts,
- market (service) area analysis.
PRC staff have provided consulting services for in-state and out-of-state customers. The services are made available on a fee basis. For more information please contact us.
