Freshmen Students

Though you may have attended Bridges, Preview Day, and/or a Viking Visitation -- Orientation will be your next step toward becoming a part of the Portland State University community.

Our statistics show that incoming students who attend Orientation have a higher grade-point average at the end of their first term of study. Because we believe Orientation is critical to your success, all new undergraduates must attend an Orientation: Advising and Registration session before registering for classes for your first term.

Orientation: Advising and Registration Sessions

Multiple sessions are offered every quarter for students beginning the following quarter and we ask you to make this a priority. This is typically your first opportunity to learn more about the undergraduate curriculum, meet with an academic adviser to select and register for your first term classes, and begin to develop your PSU network that will support your continued academic success.
