Beaverton artist Craig Cheshire is the recipient of one of the state's top honors for artists: a show in the office of Gov. Ted Kulongoski.
His paintings will be on display through July 29.
Cheshire began his formal studies at the University of California at Los Angeles, then completed them at the University of Oregon with a bachelor of arts in 1958 and master of fine arts in 1961.
Cheshire has traveled throughout Oregon and Europe. For 30 years he was an art instructor at Portland State University, where he remains professor emeritus. He continues to paint daily in his Beaverton studio and shows work throughout the state.
The governor's office is on the second floor of the Capitol. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
