PSU's Institute for Nonprofit Management Offers Spring Courses
Portland State University’s Institute for Nonprofit Management (INPM) is now accepting applications for its Spring 2007 classes, which begin in or after the week of April 2, 2007. The courses are conducted by faculty members with a wide range of expertise in the nonprofit field. The courses are open to the public and pre-registration is required. Available courses for the spring term are:
* Contemporary Issues in Fundraising – Instructor: Kevin Matheny, Tuesdays, 6:40-9:20 p.m.
* Governance of Nonprofit Organizations (Boards) – Instructor: Linda Golaszewski, Wednesdays, 6:40-9:20 p.m.
* Grantwriting (two sections, students choose one):
Instructor: Deborah Krause, Thursdays 6:40-9:20 p.m.
Instructor: Michael Wells on Weekend Intensive, class meets on the following dates: Fridays, 6-9 p.m. and the following Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 13-14, May 18-19, June 1-2.
* Inclusive Group Processes: Conflict, Creativity, Consensus - Instructor: Louise Neilson, Wednesdays, 4-6:30 p.m.
* Introduction to Nonprofit Management – Instructor: Dennis Morrow, Tuesdays, 6:40-9:20 p.m.
* Program Evaluation for Nonprofits – Instructor: Anna Foucek, Mondays, 4-6:30 p.m.
* Strategic Planning for Nonprofits – Instructor: Dan O’Toole, class meets on the following dates: Fridays, 6-9 p.m. and the following Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 13-14, May 11-12, June 1-2.
* Women’s Development and Microfinance – Instructor: Suzanne Feeney, Tuesdays, 4-6:30pm
The Institute for Nonprofit Management supports the development of a strong, informed and effective nonprofit sector through high quality educational and training programs. Students may pursue a certificate in: Nonprofit Management, Nonprofit Development, Nonprofit Financial Management or Volunteer Management. These nonprofit-related courses may be taken for graduate academic credit, as part of a Nonprofit Management Certificate, undergraduate academic credit, or taken for Continuing Education Units.
