(Portland, Ore.) March 16, 2011 - Portland State University (PSU) is one of 16 graduate schools of business chosen by The Princeton Review for its list, "Business Schools Best for 'Green Business' Education." Other schools selected include Stanford, Columbia, and Duke.

"Sustainability is an important part of our MBA program," said Trina Robertson, PSU MBA Director. "Our program is built on three key ideas that deeply connect with the values of the Portland community: Leadership, Innovation, and Sustainability."

The Princeton Review selected the schools based on a survey the company conducted of administrators at 325 graduate schools of business in 2009-2010 and of students attending the schools. Administrators were surveyed on their school's academics, curricula, campus policies and student services related to sustainability, social responsibility and the environment. Students were polled on how well they felt their MBA programs were educating them for careers in "Green Business" fields.

The 16-school list is also posted at www.princetonreview.com/business-schools-green.aspx where users will find information on the schools' academic programs, "green curricula" and admission requirements.

In a related feature in Entrepreneur magazine, the editors salute PSU for its Sustainable Business Now elective, an elective that gives students field experience and includes visits and conversations with ten to twelve leading sustainability-inspired regional businesses (www.entrepreneur.com/greenbizdegrees).

In addition to the elective, the Portland State MBA offers a sustainability certificate, and the School of Business features a Social Innovation Incubator to foster support for social entrepreneurship.

"These schools deserve kudos for their exceptional commitment to environmental and social responsibility issues both in their institutional policies and their academic offerings," said Robert Franek, Princeton Review's Senior VP of Publishing. "We salute them for the many and varied ways they have 'gone green' from offering a Masters in Environmental Management to building facilities with LEED Platinum certification to mentoring student entrepreneurship projects supporting the development of clean tech products."
