Can we solve the climate problem? Should we even try?
Renowned climatologist Philip Mote will address that this Thursday July 22 at 7 p.m. in Portland. His talk is free and open to the public. It takes place in the Smith Memorial Student Union Building (Room 355) at Portland State University, 1825 SW Broadway.
Mote, director of the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute at Oregon State University, was a lead author of the Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's 2007 report.
His talk will be the keynote address for the "Making Choices: Sustainability in a World of Conflicting Values" conference PSU will be hosting July 21-25. Just a heads up: while Mote's talk is free, the conference as a whole is not. It's $50 for Portland residents and $240 for those who aren't residents or members of the Society for Values in Higher Education.
