What: Portland State’s Friends of History will mark the 35th anniversary of the Kent State shootings in a panel “Vietnam War Protest: A Model for Today’s Activists?” The forum offers a strategic assessment of the antiwar legacy from several perspectives. Panelists include Oregonian columnist David Sarasohn, author and progressive activist Elinor Langer, PSU political culture historian David A. Horowitz and Dr. Dory Hylton, a speech communications specialist with expertise on the Portland State University Student strike of 1970.
When: Thursday, May 5, 2005, 7:30–9:30 p.m.
Where: PSU’s Smith Memorial Student Union (1825 S.W. Broadway), room 236.
Cost: The event is free and open to the public.
