International Night, "Unity in Diversity," May 12

What: The Organization of International Students will host its 30th annual “International Night,” celebrating the international diversity at Portland State with this year’s theme “Unity in Diversity.” The event will include students from more than 84 countries all over the world. Participants will be able to sample dishes from the Mediterranean, Middle East and Asia, visit cultural booths and see various performances from all over the world including traditional dances and modern dances.

When: Friday, May 12, 2006, 5–10 p.m.

Where: Smith Memorial Student Union; Cafeteria for world dishes; Multicultural Center for cultural booths and Ballroom for world dances and performances (1825 SW Broadway).

Cost: Students $6 before Monday May 8, $8 after May 9.
Non-students $7 before May 8, $9 after May 9.
Entertainment-only tickets are $4.
All tickets are available through the PSU box office (1825 SW Broadway).

Background: International Night gives a great opportunity for PSU students, families, faculty and staff and the greater Portland community to experience and know the different traditions, costumes, foods, and music that the more than 1,200 international students bring to Portland State and Portland.
