Filmmaker Corinne Marrinan Presents Her Award-Winning Documentary, October 19 & 20

What: The Portland State Library Artists and Writers Series presents Corinne Marrinan and her 2006 Oscar winning short documentary, “A Note of Triumph: The Golden Age of Norman Corwin.” Interviews with Robert Altman, Norman Lear, Studs Terkel and Walter Cronkite are included in the film, which chronicles Norman Corwin’s homage to the end of World War II in his 1945 broadcast “On a Note of Triumph.”

Filmmaker Corinne Marrinan will be at the 5th Avenue Cinema to talk about making the film and working with Norman Corwin. Marrinan co-produced another Oscar-nominated documentary, “On Tiptoe: Gentle Steps to Freedom,” and is an associate producer of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

When: Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20, from 7 – 9 p.m.

Where: 5th Avenue Cinema (510 SW Hall).

Cost: Admission is free and open to the public. Donations to the Oregon Food Bank are accepted at the door.
