Dean Larry Wallack Commentary in The Oregonian
"Over the past 30 or so years....we really have become more of a go-it-alone, you're-on-your-own society," writes Lawrence Wallack, dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs in today's Oregonian. "And we have paid a significant price because hyper-individualism tends to be an isolating force that separates people from their community. It can lead to people pursuing their own self-interest at the expense of others and to the detriment of the larger community."
