Creating new classroom space

This spring, the University is using Oregon stimulus funding to remodel Cramer Hall and create seven new classrooms, each with a full suite of technology. The retrofit will add 300 seats for fall term.

"Demand for classrooms is at an all-time high," said Provost Roy Koch, "and we are placing a high priority on creating additional high-quality classroom space that is convenient and accessible for students."

The classrooms are a retrofit of existing administrative offices in Cramer Hall, which will move in June to the Market Center Building, 1600 SW Fourth. Market Center already houses the offices of Human Resources and Finance and Administration, the School of Fine and Performing Arts, and the School of Social Work's Regional Research Institute.

Offices relocating from Cramer Hall to the Market Center Building are University Relations, University Development, University Communications, and Academic Affairs. The President's Office will relocate to the Urban and Public Affairs building at a later date. Administrative offices from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will relocate to Cramer Hall in summer 2009, providing additional faculty space in their present Neuberger Hall offices.
