The historic renovation of Portland State University's Lincoln Hall was awarded First Prize by the 2030 Challenge Design Awards in recognition of Boora Architects’ innovative and successful approach to energy efficiency.

The project by Portland-based Boora was responsible for the 136,000 square foot building achieving a 63 percent energy savings compared to an average building of the same size and type.

The awards ceremony on Nov. 10 was co-sponsored by the Portland chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ Committee on the Environment (COTE) and Architecture 2030, an organization working to achieve a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by changing how buildings are designed and constructed.

This is the second year of the awards, which recognizes design excellence among project striving to achieve the reduction targets of the 2030 challenge.
