To find out more about current events and information regarding the PSU and Portland Native American community, please check out the Native American Student & Community Center
New and returning students, the 2011-2012 academic year is underway. I invite you to stop by and visit the Native American Student Services Program which is housed in the Native American Student and Community Center. As you finalize your transition into Portland State University, I am available to help make this process a smooth one. Feel free to stop by or call 503-725-5348.
If you are new to campus please come visit our Native American Student and Community Center. The NASCC houses my office, many Native American Studies Program classes, a computer lab and our Native American student organizations, United Indian Students in Higher Education (UISHE) and the American Indian Science & Engineer's Society (AISES) chapter. We also have the Healing Feathers Suicide Prevention Awareness Project which is always in need of student volunteers and workers. The Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as Indigenous Peoples of PSU Meet & Greets, Indian art shows, guest speakers and many other events. Come make NASCC your home away from home.
Also, on October 6, 2011, 4:00pm-6:00pm, we are hosting the Indigenous Peoples of PSU Open House. Come meet new friends, learn about our clubs and programs and enjoy some good food.
I hope your school year is productive and enjoyable. I look forward to meeting you.
