For students with undergraduate status at PSU: | For the PSU student who is concurrently enrolled in the TESL Certificate program *and* a BA/BS program: Some course requirements for the TESL Certificate can be met using credits that are simultaneously being applied toward baccalaureate degree requirements at PSU In order to utilize credits from a concurrent BA/BS program, the student *may not* first complete a B.A./B.S. and then later apply credit from their baccalaureate coursework toward TESL Certificate course requirements. All of the requirements for the TESL Certificate must be completed before the student receives the B.A. or B.S. diploma.

For students with post-bac or graduate status at PSU: | Credits that were used to satisfy course requirements for an earned degree at any institution *may not* be used to satisfy TESL Certificate requirements. However, credits that were not used to satisfy requirements for a previously awarded degree *may* be used to satisfy TESL Certificate requirements, upon Applied Linguistics adviser approval. Students may transfer up to 12 credits for coursework taken at PSU or other universities, into the TESL Certificate program, provided those credits have not already been used to satisfy the course requirements for a previously earned degree. .
