Parents often find the convenience of the First Year Experience Program to be the best adjustment tool for their new student attending Portland State University. In FYE, a roommate is matched up with your student to help them build a network with the other students in their living and learning community, as well as in the university as a whole. Social activities and learning experiences are group based, allowing opportunities for your student to become an active part of the student body.

Shared Dining is an important part of the FYE program, and also allows parents the opportunity to ensure that their students will not have to worry about meal times, and will be able to focus their energies on success at PSU.
