Overview:

The goal of this project is to identify core components of culturally-specific permanent supportive housing and the contextual factors that support or inhibit its implementation. Culturally-specific providers are recognized as providing services to a cultural community where the leadership and staff, organizational environment, and clients come from a specific cultural community. They offer a unique opportunity to explore how people of color are most effectively supported in permanent supportive housing.

This study will answer the following questions to understand implementation of permanent supportive housing with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color: How do culturally-specific providers conceptualize and operationalize permanent supportive housing? And, in what innovative ways, and how, are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color implementing permanent supportive housing? By answering these questions, the research will identify core components of culturally-specific permanent supportive housing and the contextual factors that support or inhibit its implementation.
