G.L.A. Harris, Public Administration faculty, was recently appointed to the Task Force on Higher Education Student and Institutional Success by Gov. John Kitzhaber for the term September 2011 through December 2012. The task force emanated from Oregon House Bill 3418. Harris, along with 16 other task force members, will examine those models and best practices that drive student achievement and institutional success. Harris’ voice will be essential in representing the concerns of the faculty, staff, and students at Portland State in preserving quality higher education as the Oregon University System moves toward an outcomes-based funding model for the universities.
