Each student majoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice (CCJ) is assigned to our professional academic advisor, Kierstan Betancourt. Each student can also be assigned a faculty advisor after meeting with Kierstan. Kierstan is located in the CCJ office in the Urban Center building on the fifth floor (URBN 550). Her office is room 571A.
All CCJ students should regularly check in with Kierstan Betancourt. She provides assistance to CCJ undergraduate majors and minors, as well as CCJ post-bac students, with a wide range of issues related to general university requirements, University Studies, bachelor's degree requirements, major and course requirements, community college transfers, graduation requirements, and general information about our programs. Students meeting with Kierstan do not need to bring a Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) report. It will be reviewed online during the meeting.
To request an advising appointment, please email Kierstan at kbetanco@pdx.edu.
SStudents may request a faculty advisor after meeting with Kierstan. A faculty advisor will be helpful in giving information on careers within the CCJ field and on pursuing post-secondary education. Students meeting with a faculty advisor should always bring a recent Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) report to their advising session.
