2008 Portland Mayoral Debate at PSU Featuring Sam Adams and Sho Dozono
PSU was proud to co-host a Portland Mayoral Debate between Sam Adams and Sho Dozono on March 20. The debate was moderated by College of Urban and Public Affairs Dean Larry Wallack and a small panel questioned the candidates on specific public policy areas including transportation, economic development, and public safety. The debate followed the Hatfield-Blumenauer format, where candidates were given the main questions in advance so that they could prepare answers that reflected their best thoughts on policy more than their ability to come up with an answer on the spot. The debate was spirited, and more than 300 members of the PSU community attended even though the debate overlapped with PSUs appearance in the NCAA basketball tournament.
