Our Fundraising Ethics and Practices
The Portland State Office of University Development subscribes to standards of professional ethics and fundraising practices as adopted by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE):
The following policies related to fundraising practices are on file at the Office of University Development:
- Donor Confidentiality Policy and Procedures: stipulates manner in which donor information in hard files and database is managed to protect donor privacy.
- Capital Naming Opportunities: policy on naming buildings, rooms and other facilities to recognize donors.
- Endowed Funds Policy: minimum endowment corpus levels for funds with specific purposes; how annual endowment payout rate is determined (joint policy with PSU Foundation).
- Major Gifts Prospect Management: internal procedures for coordinating cultivation and solicitation of high level gifts.
- Campaign Donor Stewardship Plan: outlines donor recognition and stewardship procedures and activities.
