Urban & Public Affairs General Scholarships

Your gift for scholarships is a wonderful way to help promising students succeed in the public service careers they've chosen. Few investments promise greater returns than one that furthers the education of the future generation of professionals for government and community agencies throughout our region. These scholarships are designed to encourage economic and racial diversity to our student body and to reward excellence. Our goal is to train the next generation of "Urban Pioneers." Funds raised are invested in an endowment at the PSU Foundation with the investment earnings paid out in scholarships, benefiting never-ending generations of students.

Ron Cease Founder's Award

Twenty-five years ago, Professor and Portland State alumnus Ronald C. Cease '50 founded the Department of Public Administration, and has guided its continuing growth and success ever since. He has taught and mentored countless students who aspire to careers in public service, and set them an example with his own career, which has included service in the Oregon legislature and leadership roles with many civic organizations. Your contribution to the Ron Cease Founder's Award endowment pays tribute to one of PSU's most distinguished faculty members and builds a permanent resource for the students he cares about so much.

The Institute of Portland Metropolitan Studies serves as a "front door" to the resources of higher education in our region, providing a neutral forum for exploration of policy issues critical to our quality of life. In fact, the Institute is one of the best laboratories in the world for extensive study of the impacts of urban planning. Your gift to the Institute's endowment helps to build a permanent resource for communities throughout the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area—and elsewhere.
