Big Plans: Maseeh College of Engineering & Computer Science
Northwest Center for Engineering, Science and Technology

The Northwest Center is a $71 million project that will provide state-of-the-art facilities for the rapidly growing engineering and computer science program here at Portland State University. The Northwest Center will provide the educational and research facilities to further a "decade of growth" supporting the needs of industry and advancing economic development in our region.
Engineering and Technology Management Department

The Engineering and Technology Management Department (ETM) offers graduate programs that combine education in engineering with sound management teaching. We offer master’s degrees in engineering management, technology management, project management, civil engineering management and manufacturing engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in systems science/engineering management. The department is marked by the academic achievement of its students and faculty and recognized for setting the direction for the technology management discipline and its education models.
Civil and Environmental Engineering Department

Civil and environmental engineers plan, design, and manage the construction and operation of public and private facilities, including highways and transportation systems, power plants, buildings, dams, and water and wastewater treatment facilities. PSU civil and environmental engineering students have unmatched opportunities to partner with faculty and working engineers to improve the quality of life in our city and region. More often than not, the challenges tackled by our students are in the national spotlight.
Computer Science Department

The computer science program is designed to provide students with the educational background required for a professional career in the computing industry and for further study at the graduate level. Adjunct faculty members from the nearby "Silicon Forest" teach our students about specialty areas such as spoken language interfaces, programming languages, and parallel processing, and provide students with a variety of internship opportunities.
Electrical and Computer Engineering Department

This dramatically expanding department has a high-quality faculty, state-of-the-art teaching and research labs, and extensive collaborations with industry. The electrical and computer engineering program is designed to provide a comprehensive background in the electrical sciences and offers an opportunity for specialization in the areas of physical electronics, circuit design, electrical power engineering, automatic control systems, communication systems, computer engineering, optical electronics, and electromagnetics.
Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department

Mechanical and materials engineering affords a wide range of career paths with a broad spectrum of employers. The mechanical and materials engineering program offers areas of study in aerospace, energy conversion, energy utilization, environmental design and management, chemical processing, electromechanical systems, controls, mechanical design, manufacturing, and materials.
