ESR 591 is a field projects course that examines shifts in ecosystem services on the White Salmon River associated with removal of the Condit Dam (from hydropower and flat water recreation to ‘white water’ fisheries and recreation) and estimates environmental, economic and social impacts. ESR 510/590 is a required pre-requisite. Students will work in small groups on real-world issues related to these ecological and socio-economic impacts and shifts. Students will gain on-the-ground experience and contacts with community and agency partners.
