"Ode to Silent Film" will feature piano music from Beethoven, Schumann, Granados, Debussy and others. Each piece of music will be accompanied by a film montage comprised of selections from classic films dating from 1925 to 2000, including La Strada, In the Mood for Love, and Battleship Potemkin.

This recital project is meant to be an homage to silent film theaters. From the birth of cinema through the 1920's, showings of films almost always included live music; full orchestras or organs in larger theaters and pianists in smaller, neighborhood theaters. The scores played by pianists would either be improvised or compiled of classical music. Instead of pairing music to film, this multimedia production will pair film to music in a way that thematically explores each piece of music through the use of visuals, while complimenting atmosphere and emotional essence.
