Who should I contact if I am dealing with an employee relations problem and the employee has also requested protected leave?
Supervisory staff should contact HR Benefits for guidance and assistance in addressing employee FMLA/OFLA issues. Absences for the FMLA/OFLA reason cannot be disciplined because those absences are protected by the leave law. If there are performance or attendance issues, HR Benefits may refer you to HR Employee Relations.
