Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science hosts MESA Day
Location: Peter Stott Center
MESA Day begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
Volunteers are needed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
MESA Day is a celebration of students’ innovation, hard work, and interest in math, engineering, science, and technology. MESA Day provides an opportunity for 6th - 12th grade students to design and build projects, compete against their peers, win medals, and learn by doing. They also receive the chance to visit a college campus and interact with diverse college students, professors, and industry professionals.
MESA Day competitions and hands-on activities include:
- Trebuchet
- Balsa Wood Bridge
- Discovery Center
- Math Scavenger Hunt
- Egg Drop
- Straw Rockets
Volunteers needed for MESA Day!
7 a.m. to 9 a.m. - Set up and Registration
9 a.m. to 11 a.m. - Registration and Support
10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. - Competition and Hands-on Activity Support
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Lunch Distribution
Noon to 2:15 p.m. - Competition and Hands-on Activity Support
2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Clean up
Oregon MESA serves students from underrepresented groups in the fields of Math, Engineering, and Science. MESA students enjoy the opportunity to interact with engineers, other professionals, and members of the community at MESA Day!
