Master's Degree plus Initial Administrator License (M+IAL) Program of Study
The program requires the completion of at least 45 credits, which includes the Professional Studies Core (20 credits), License Cohort (24 credits), and Elective (1 credit).

Professional core courses must be completed prior to beginning the Initial Administrator License Cohort.

License Cohort (24 credits)
The curriculum for the cohort program begins fall term (late August) and ends spring term (mid-June). Newly admitted students must agree to complete the entire program even though they may have already completed courses with numbers or titles similar to those required. The curriculum in this program reflects the new TSPC standards and is different from what may have been completed previously.
Cohort Program is currently offered in four locations:
- Portland Downtown
- Portland East (Oregon City)
- Portland West (Beaverton)
- Mid-Willamette Valley (Salem)
Direct instruction and group problem-solving assignments will be completed throughout the year, commencing fall term. In addition, each cohort member completes a full-year guided administrative practicum.

The Administrative Practicum
The 360-hour field-based practicum is the equivalent of working about 120 hours per quarter or 12 hours per week in a building-level or district/agency administrative capacity. During the practicum, the administrative intern seeks opportunities to develop fully as an educational leader and to acquire proficiency in the seven areas of administrative responsibility as outline by TSPC's Performance Standards.
