Graduate School of Education Research Projects
Faculty and students in the GSE are involved in a number of research projects that benefit the education community and nationally. We currently have studies on autism, inclusive education, and students with disabilities.
Autism Spectrum Disorders Outcome Study
The Autism Spectrum Disorders Outcome Study is a collaborative project between Portland State University and the Oregon Department of Education. This five-year* study began in 1998 and is tracking the educational progress of sixty-seven children with autism from the State of Oregon.
Autism Training & Research Center
The PSU Autism Training and Research Center provides training and support for the implementation of research-based curriculum methods as well as on-site training, consultation, and evaluation for district programs that serve children with autism.
Research Center on Inclusive & Effective Educational Practices
The Research Center on Inclusive and Effective Educational Practices (RCIEP) works to expand externally funded research of faculty in the Department of Special Education and Counselor Education in the Graduate School of Education. The RCIEP is one of several projects funded, initially, by the Portland State University Office of Research and Sponsored Projects to expand externally funded research in departments with strong external funding records and potential for research expansion.
