Program Accreditation

Logo for CACREP

The College of Education’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, and School Counseling programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). CACREP accreditation recognizes programs that meet or exceed the highest standards for counselor preparation. Program accreditation extends through October 31, 2024.

Comprehensive Evaluation Plan

The Counselor Education department engages in continuous, systematic, and rigorous  program evaluation. This occurs annually at the department’s fall retreat, at department meetings, and as a part of the College of Education’s annual Data Review Day. The Counselor Education department’s evaluation plan focuses on assessment of student learning outcomes, peer and site supervisor evaluations, exam pass rates, and  post-graduation outcomes. Program evaluations are conducted at key milestone points every year.
